40hp Utility w-Snappy Hydraulics???

Changing gears from my other post....

What 40hp-ish utility tractor would you recommend with a snappy fast 3pt hitch when raising an implement. I’m thinking about getting to the end of a windrow, lifting a 3pt quickly and making a U-turn with the rake wheels off the ground. My MF50 is good, my JD 5055d does great, but would like a recommendation for a 40hp-ish utility tractor with a fast lifting 3pt hitch.

Case IH utility tractors are known for great hydraulics and fast response.You should consider a 384/385/395 or even the older IH tractors such as 374.

I’ll put a second vote in for the IH / CaseIH utilities, although I’d try one size larger with the 454, 474, 484, 485, 495 etc.
 
I just got a john deere 1520 and its hydraulics are nice and quick... but then again I just upgraded from a ford 2000 and its hydraulics are slow as molasses with a front end loader.
 
John Deere 2240-2440,1520-1530. A 2040 would work also but make sure it has the big hyd pump. The early 2040's had open center hyd's and a small pump. You could also go newer 2150-2155 ect. Tom
 
I'll second 1520 or 30 John deere. I have a 1972 and put a sub soiler on it, it would hit a rock and with the draft control set would pop the rock right out of the ground.
 
I have a 485 CIH, and it is very nimble and handy. The hydraulics are fast-when using an 8' 3pt disc, it has it up as fast as I move the control lever. Mark.
 
I have a 20 year old Kubota with an adjustable rate of lift. Adjusted with a valve knob on the front of the seat, down between your legs. On the fast rate it is too fast for anything I do. My newer John Deere with premium hydraulics is also adjustable but done through electronics. Takes longer to adjust unless you are on the right page. The Kubota can be adjusted from fast to slow or the other way around as fast as you can turn the knob.
