Also a Mannheim grain binder built by LANZ in the early 1950s and they were a very
reliable machine with rubber elevator belts. The importers to the UK were Levertons
of Spalding Lincs and they also imported some LANZ self propelled combines.
Levertons was the UKs largest importer of John Deere tractors and implements untill
we ran out of Dollars in September 1949. They also imported a lot of Caterpillar
crawer tractors and they were imported after 1949 as the customers were prepaired to
pay the high prices for them as they so mutch better than what the UK tractor makers
had to offer. IN 1971 I bought a LANZ binder like the one in the photo at a farm
sale for £10=00 and sold it to a roofing thatcher as we have a lot of thatched roof
cottages here in the UK. MJ.

Here I thought a Roll-a-Cone was a fairly new invention on corn heads. Had them way back when on binders!
