ford 8730 powershift

i purchased a used 8730 with powershift . once in awhile when i tryed to shift into gear i would get a error code c. could cut key off and would go back to working . now will not reset. any suggestions

Would have to look in the manual for the code c meaning but, does it shift through all the gears?

no will no go into any gear . sounds like something moves under cab but tractor will not move

You have to re calibrate that transmission every so often. I'm pretty sure C codes are solenoid issues, but it should give you C
and a number so you know which one. You might want to get a manual.

I think that C is slow to fill which may mean a leaking clutch pack seal. As Chris says you need to recalibrate periodically. Slow to fill can also be due to low hydraulic pressure so take a reading of that. How many hours?
