Proper way to transport planter?

Is there a problem with my method of getting this John Deere planter home? I drove about 2 miles on county roads from where I bought the planter to where I live. Also, does anyone have parts or a parts planter they would sell? It is a John Deere no.7 Loose Ground Lister Planter.

Sorry, the pictures didn't attach.

Looks good to me, but I'm sure the YT gestapo will find something wrong with it! :D

I didn't bother to look it up, but since we debate having a chain on the outside of a rub rail I can't imagine it being legal to have part of your load sticking out four feet to the side. I find it hard to believe that anyone would even pull out onto the road with it let alone ask if it is legal.

To go 2 miles I would've just hitched it to a tractor. But for only 2 miles the way its loaded, just watch the mail boxes

Total legal except

Need a flag on the end of hitch. Wide load sign. That’s it.
We can haul any farm equipment we want wide. No different than if pulled by tractor as far as being to wide. Some people must over think to much.
I haul with semi lots of over width. After 12.6 ft you need other permits if it’s not farm machine.

no clue how things are in your area, I would have tied a flag on the hitch put my over sized load signs on and been home, for me thats a tiny load

OH! NO, NO, NO!

Improperly secured! Need approved chain on each corner!

And the tongue extending out the side, need a wide load sign, special permit, and escort service.

Escort service can be hired from the back page of the Thrifty Nickle! LOL

I picked up a thrifty nickel the other day it was a whopping 4 pages ! Remember when they used to be two sections thick

I have pulled many 2 row planters farther than that I bought at farm sales, pull mold board plows, wheel discs that whipped all the way.
