Are Lucknow snowblowers well built or
are they light and cheap?

An 8' one is in an auction near me
tomorrow.

Mine is almost 50 years old, thousands of hours of use, with little repair. 8 foot single auger on a 90 hp tractor. Well built right here in the snow belt! I live near Lucknow, so I might have a bit of bias....!

I had a Lucknow blower for many years, and served me well.

I did quite a bit of snow blowing for neighbors with this double auger hydraulic tip and turn shoot blower. Like every piece of equipment, if you use them enough, things will wear out. And I replaced bearings, sprockets, chains, that sort of thing. But there was some 20 years of hard use before any of these repairs had to be done.. Held its value very well too, and sold off the dealers lot within a month.

Boy am I glad I don't live where you do. I've had my little Kubota blower for 20 years and I seriously doubt it has 200 hrs on it.

I bought a Lucknow blower in 1982. It is still our snow blower, well built and designed. Its a single auger two stage. I did put new cogs and chains on it about ten years and it is as good as new. They were very popular for a reason.

Cogs? Did you get them from cogswell cogs?
