3pt measurement from pto to lower link end

Is there a standard set distance from the end of the pto shaft to the center of the ball socket for 3pt hitchs? Im trying to cobble up a DIY on an old allis. I know I will end up less than a good kit, but I only need good enough for now.
In case of poor wording how far past the end of pto shaft should lower link arms extend out the back of tractor? It looks like about 2 ft to me, but thats just eyeballin cause I forgot my tape when I went to measure buddies tractor

See picture. Distance depends on category.

End of pto shaft to hole in drawbar is 14" for 540 pto. Most 3 point hitch drawbars are much more than that.Extending the Implement pto,or an extension on the tractor may be required. Plus,3 point drawbars tend to sway, and maintaining a constant hieght can be difficult. If you want to run PTO equipment,go with a regular straight drawbar secured under the tractor.Do it right, and safe.

My take on the question was that he wants to add a 3pt to an older tractor and is building it himself (DIY). He wants to get the 3 point links the right length so that if he were to use a 3pt implement that requires a PTO (3pt mower, 3pt bush hog, snow blower, 3pt fertilizer spreader, etc) that the links are the right length. If you look at my post, the length the 3pt lower lift ball is behind the end of the PTO shaft varies with the 3pt hitch category. If you look into the ASABE standards, both 3pt hitch and drawbar standards reference position in relation to the PTO shaft. The OP was correct in asking for the measurement from the PTO shaft.

I understand your reasoning for using the factory drawbar, but I have never run an drawbar mounted snow blower and realize there are 3pt implements that require a PTO so I felt it was best to answer the OPs question rather than redirect him in another direction.

ASABE specifies that 16" is the dimension from the end of the PTO shaft to the center of the drawbar hole. Manufacturers may at their discretion provide a provision to place the hole at 14" for implements that were designed to an older standard, but in no means are they required to provide that placement since the standard has been 16" for over 20 years.

to answer your question, from the end of pto shaft to center of link arms on my Ford 3910 is 21 inches, hope this helps

ASG, did the picture you post come from the ISO standard document? If so is that included in ISO 730 or ISO 500. I have been trying to find a copy of ISO 730 but I hate having to pay for standards documents. Also do you know if ASABE maintains their own standard for 3 points and PTOs or did they just adopt the ISO standards. Sorry for the kinda off topic questions but I'm having a hard time finding this and you seem to have some knowledge on the subject. Thanks in advance.
