DEKA Batteries

Local tire/battery carries them. About everything around here has one. Have been happy with all so far.

I have used several of them. Seemed toget good service out of them. Made by East-Penn, Have mfg facilitys several locations around US.

East Penn manufacturing makes them. They are one of about 10 lead acid manufacturers, and probably in the top 5 for production. Several labels are put on them. I have used them, and find them at or above average. Remember the fabricating companies make batteries to a resellers specification and quality/engineering. Jim

Saw that. And Home Depot is selling Exide now too. HD had the best price by far when I was shopping. And they were selling a 3 year warranty battery for less than others were selling a 2 year warranty. I'd only caution you to check the manufacture date whenever buying a battery, especially at places that don't do a lot of battery business. You don't really want a battery that has been sitting, un-maintained for a long time. And I don't think that the folks at Lowes or HD do much self battery maintenance, like the focused battery stores claim they do.

I have had good luck with them. My beef with batteries today is that they are all wet. Back when I was involved in a business, we filled batteries as needed. It was a pain, but battery life started right then.

Just so everyone knows....
The date on a battery is not necessarily the manufacturing date. It’s the date that the battery was checked. A “tech” could come out with his volt meter, hook it up, determine that the battery is okay and then put a new sticker on it.
You can call the battery company to verify that.

yes. good batteries. I always look for them 1st. in the lawn mower i could go 4-5 years easy with a Deka battery. any others would be maybe 1-1/2 seasons.

hopefully they didn't cheapen them for lowes

i've also had good luck with acdelco batteries in my cars as well. Menards sells those.

We've got some deka's work as good as any of them. They all seem to last about 3-10 years depnding on the use ,abuse and electrical draw of the vehicle. OLd Pete they would last about 5-7 years the newer one they last about 3-5 years . Old one was a mechanical engine without all the do dads onit. The newer one has all the do dads on it so draws more on the battery just setting.

not a fan of them they always came in all the new ztr mower inventory. when mowers were sold 85 percent of them were switch out cause of no charge and would not take charge, ones that did get out door were usually replaced within the same year. me personally just did not like them. never dealt with any of the larger batterys
