Something ruined my day

I got up today ate breakfast, fed the chickens, and fish. Then My left hand finger next to the small one started hurting real bad. I mean real bad all day. All I can see is a couple small red marks. Wife says it's a spider bite. I guess anything is possible. All I can think about is the pain. Ice seams to do a little good.I tried to make a doctor appointment, doctor is off today. I guess there are people who are a lot worse off than I am. Hope you had a good day. Stan

The left two fingers on your left hand are controlled by the alnar nerve. It comes down from the base of your brain through your left elbow to your left hand. A bone spur in your left elbow will have an efect on your ability to controll those two fingers. An simple xray will show where the problem is at and will direct how to fix it. Tom

Tom is right. The ring finger on my right hand is going numb. The doc told me fixing it involves a surgery in my elbow to relocate a pinched nerve.

I never wear a ring. Just because it might get caught on something, and rip my finger off. A story I heard in the Navy. Someone jumped off a platform working on a aircraft engine His ring got caught. and pulled his finger off, with the cord attached. My wife knows I am married,That's all that counts. Stan

Back when I was in the Navy I knew a gal who worked at an auto parts store I went to a lot. I asked her out one day and she said sorry I'm married but you could not tell she was since her ring finger was missing. She told me she had climbed up on a shelve to get a part and jumped off and her ring got caught on a nail and well that was where he finger stayed

I only wear a wedding ring for dress up occasions.

I haven't worn one full time since years ago when I was drilling hole in some metal on a stock car with an electric drill that had a metal case. My wedding ring was touching the handle on the drill and somehow hit the positive post on the battery. It destroyed the ring and burnt heck out of my finger.

Same thing Chief said, my wife knows I'm married and that's all that counts.

stan, if i recall you are out in california. you have the black widow spider, two species of recluse spiders and the yellow sac spider. all highly venomous. . at the very least get to a quick care and have it looked at. a buddy of mine got bit in the chest a few years ago by a brown recluse. he toughed it out for a while until the flesh started dying. had surgery and the cut a plug of flesh out of his chest to stop the poison from spreading.

If you do a search try ulner nerve. Better results. You might be able to damage this nerve by hitting your crazy bone (ulner nerve) too many times.

When I was in the Navy as an E.T. no one was allowed to wear a ring due to the burn hazard of wearing a ring. When I worked at the T.V. repair shops after I got out of the Navy I never wore a ring and when I worked at Tracker Marine in the maintenance dept I was not allow to wear a ring due the the fact doing so and getting a shock could burn your finger off

Yep, my nephew was a teen when he got bitten by a brown recluse spider in a small town park in Minnesota. He said the pain was intense and would not subside.

The next morning, my sister took him to the doctor, as it looked all infected and the pain was still bad. Docs had to debride his foot numerous times. It took a long time to heal. Messed up half his summer that year.

Docs said brown recluse are not supposed to live this far north... but obviously they do.

You are right about that. Worked in a warehouse years ago and one of the guys had to get something out of a metal mesh type box. Crawled up the side and when he came down his ring got caught and he lost part of his finger.

For the pain, try putting your hand in the hottest water you can stand.
Works really good with jellyfish, catfish and other insect stings.

The pain is still there but your brain is overwhelmed with the hot.

I have been finned (stung) by saltwater catfish when they flip off the hook and land on your foot.
Hurts so bad you want to cut your foot off.
Stick the foot in hot water and instantly feel a wave of relief cascade thru your body as you no longer feel the sting.
