4020/1370 front end

Sometime in the last month or two there was a thread here on a JD 4020 front end. Someone answered that a Case 1370 front end was a virtual bolt on replacement. I have searched and cant find this thread. My question is how hard would it be to install a Case 1175 front end on a JD 3020 ?Thanks for any help, Lee

The 1175 is a bit different and I'm not sure on the fit. The 1170, 1270, 1370, and 1570 are the same units I believe. The 1175 depending on year would be the smaller front like the 7-1070. Again, I'm not sure how the pivots are different without measuring.

That was me,The 1370 front end bolts right on, not sure about the other case tractors, some of the case guys would know for sure if others fit !

I have a 1070 case axle under my 4020. I did install it, and it was a direct bolt on. You did however need the adaptor plat that bolted to the tractor. The axle then bolted to it. Finding that plate is the hard part. I don't think the guy who made them is still around. I do have a spare 1070 axle with plate I bought. I do believe I might sell it, or let someone measure it and build their own plate. It does not look super hard. Colfax tractor in Ia. used to sell this kit. I do think they sold a pile of them back in the day. Think I bought mine in about 95 and paid like 12-1500 for the hole shebang. Axle, plate, tie rods, hardware, wheels and tires. Everything to make it ready to drive. Al

(quoted from post at 08:14:18 10/12/20) The 4430 front axle is a more standard bolt-on replacement.

JD 30-55 series which incudes 4430 frt axles aren't direct bolt on to 20 series rowcrop tractors without a custom made adapter plate.

Many thanks to everyone ! I have access to an 1175 on my farm that I think I can buy the whole tractor for around $700. I tried to buy it when it first stopped running[long story]. Ended up water in it froze in motor and oil pan burst. The front end appears good so I thought it might be a good way to go. The front end on this 3020 was welded up when I got so it would cost a fortune to fix. Thanks again this sheds a lot of light on things. I will post again when I decide for sure what to do , Lee

This is my 4010 with the adapter plate and 4430 front end. I got it from Abilene Machine.
