Went to a Mack Truck show last weekend. The weather was perfect and the place was absolutely packed! So many awesome rigs there. Probably the coolest thing was the 4 door Marmon Camper. Someone did a lot of work on that.

I have an old single axel semi trailer with BOTH air and vacuum brakes. except for wood flor its good
shape. Used tp use for nurse tanks when planting. Now just sets. Some one into 40 and 50 years single
axel tractors should have it for show. Next time I get to I 8o truck museum plan on asking if interested.

Mack is now owned by Volvo , and a Chinese
company owns Volvo. Dose that make Mack trucks
Chinese? Just looked it up on Google, kinda made
me feel... sort of sick really.

You're exactly right, that's why I prefer the old B and R series trucks, back when they were real trucks.

My understanding is that Volvo automobile division was sold to a Chinese company, but the truck and construction equipment businesses are still Swedish.

John is correct. The automobile division was sold initially to Ford, who later sold it to Geely(sp?), a Chinese company. The heavy truck division and the construction equipment division are owned by AB VOLVO of Sweden. Apparently, though, Geeley and Renault each own about 17% of that company. Terex construction equipment is also part of that company. It is interesting that both companies use the Volvo emblem despite being separate entities.

Sorry I had a Dog truck once and it was just that a dog. CH613 poorly designed under the hood. Wiper reservoir was right over the exhaust so melted the container, Alternator down behind the frame rail terrible place to get to. Nope don't want a dog. Have 2 Pete's with few troubles. 1 Volvo/GM best part of it was the Cat engine. I think the B models were the best looking model they made though.

Marmon, from Texas. They ended production in 1997.

Marmons were essentially custom built 100% to order. A lot of them were absolute top of the line trucks. Kinda like if you had the money and the time to wait you wanted a Marmon.
