Picked corn today

This afternoon I got the 300 picker out and picked a small strip of corn. I ended up with 4 wagon loads. Plan to mow the stalks in the morning to bale Monday and plant some more rye. Tom

Is your corn dry enough to crib? Or does it go in as high moisture corn in a silo??

The wagon looks almost full, so is that a three row picker? I don't think you will make it to the end !

We unload from the front. I have a metal shield that makes the hole smaller so the corn does not run out and make a big mess on the ground. You end up taking the beaters in and out of gear often to get started but it works ok. It maybe shells a little bit more but not alot. I prefer gravity boxes but sometimes you need the extra wagon. I did a float test with a dozen ears of corn in a tub of water and 10 floated and the other 2 did not sink to the bottom. Moisture tester said 20%. Tom

Yes the picker has an extension. Not sure if factory or homemade as there is no paint on it but it was well built. Tom

With the cross conveyor we can run it right into an elevator or the feed grinder. I think it is narrow enough to feed right into the conveyor on my 71 sheller. Tom

It is a 2 row. It was a little fuller than I like but was trying to get finished the strip so I can mow and bale stalks. Tom

JD did offer an extension but the lack paint may indicate yours was homemade.
