Farmall Super C hydraulic cylinder

I have a rebuild set for cylinder. It includes four plastic "washers" the same sizes as the O rings on the large cylinder and the smaller "return" cylinder. What I don't know (the one I took off the tractor didn't have them) is just where they go: between the heads and the cylinder or between the cylinder and the O ring. so: head, washer, O ring, cylinder or Head, O ring washer cylinder? My parts manual doesn't show these washers.

Those are back up rings.

When you put the Oring in the groove, is there enough room for the back up ring to fit beside it?

If no, then don't use them.

If there is enough room, and they won't fit tight, there will still be some room for the back up ring to easily slip in, the back up ring goes on the side the Oring will be pushed up against when under pressure.
