Wifes favorite tractor.

After reading Grandpa Loves post I think we should have a post about our wifes favorite tractor. My Wifes is a 1962 Fordson Dexta witch I restored her for three years ago and the first year she took it to four shows and won three first prizes. 21 years ago I restored a 1950 David Brown Cropmaster for her but one night she had it stolen before she could even show it so she was borrowing my 1956 Fordson Diesel Major. The Dexta was in a poor state when I bought it so I never told her I had got it till she came to the works on day and I had to own up to her and she said will you restore it for me and I said yes

Her favorite was a JD 4010 compact utility tractor (19 HP with hydrostatic drive, 4wd, loader) I bought her for her birthday in 2005. Then she "loaned" it to our daughter a few years later, and it hasn't been home since. Wife seems fine with it, she just uses our 50 HP Kubota instead. I haven't said anything.

I am smitten with a girl with the last name Parr. I grew up around Junkshow and she was involved in a family show around the corner and down the road. The family collection has been dissolved, but hers was and still is the 18-36 Hart-Parr.

My girlfriends favorite tractor is a 1949 Case VAC that I got her after she said she wanted her own tractor. So being a Case collector is was obvious she was going to get a Case.

My wife has a new favorite. Her '49 cub. Still loves her Ford, too.

She also thinks my tractor is se*y. Lol.

My wife’s favorite is a 1950 Minneapolis Moline R we bought in 08. We were just taking a Sunday afternoon drive to go look at it with really no intention to bring it home but the tractor we got for what we paid we couldn’t leave it there. She said I’ll write the check but it will be my tractor. I figured since we were using her hot tub money to buy the tractor it should be hers. She ain’t said no more about a hot tub either so I won’t say anything either.

I was going to say the little JD 750, as she uses it to get to the field where she walks and looks for arrowheads. Even has a bucket to help carry stuff.

But when I asked her, she said it was the 826 hydro that she got to use for disking, instead of having to use a clutch transmission tractor. IH tractor hooked to the round baler in the picture.

When we first got our JD 4600 I came back in the yard with it and my wife came out and said, "Don't shut it off, I want to use it"! She loves it too!

My wife's favorite is a 4-210 white she used to do all of the spring work with it and a lot of the fall ripping. She has delegated it back to me now it seems, so I have started to notill, solved that issue.

Hard to beat a nice Dextra. Excellent choice. Although that FMD may be one of the toughest tractors ever built.

The favorite tractor of my husband's wife (grin), is a rusty Farmall Regular that was dragged out of a farm jungle ten years ago on a humid and hot, hot, hot July day (after setting there for nearly 50 years).
That ol' girl sat forgotten and overgrown by a huge honeysuckle - valve cover off, pistons seized, air cleaner missing, tires flat, mouse nests built anywhere possible... more wrong with it, than right.

How could one not fall in love with that rust bucket???
