Left early today to run 2 1/2 hours to pickup a new to me corn dryer. Looks I'm not bad shape except modified some. I'm sure I can make it work again.

Now if I can get home without major issue all will be good

Jon,
Is that a tox o sic pto driven corn dryer? I remember the neighbors used one at our place many many decades ago. 😀. Good luck with it sir. I hope it serves you well. You’ll have to post some video of it in action once you put it to work. Be safe this harvest season. Kow Farmer Kurt. 🐂👨‍🌾

Pa had one like that. His was the 500 bushel. Yours looks to be the smaller one. I think they were 380 bushel. They work all right. Pa powered his with the 700 Case. Unlike my portable batch, the corn from his tox-o-wik came out with a very uniform moisture content.

What do you have hanging down under your truck?

Dryer looks like it will serve you well. A little repairs outweigh the price of the new "fail right as warranty expires" ones made today.

Reminds me of a trip 15 years ago when we pulled a John Deere 550 grain dryer from southern Iowa to WI. It was after dark when we went through Ceder Rapids. We had magnetic flashing lights stuck on it for safety. Long slow trip but we dried lots of corn with it. Tom

I hope it serves you well. Dad bought this one slightly used in 1986 or 7. I still use it every year.

Old tox-o-wic driers were good driers. cheap trouble free models. Best if under a roof during off season. They do rust out at the corner of the sloping sides to the vertical ones. That is the only reason we don't use the one we have now. I don't want to risk cleaning up the mess right when I don't need to waste that time. We used to put down a tarp to catch the fines coming out of the bottom and feed. If it starts leaking corn out the bottom bearing area it will need a new bottom made to seal it. Ours rusted out there and moisture /water would set around the bottom bearing and rust out the seal then bearing would be out and leak. There is a rubber pad about 5or 6 inches in diameter and just the shaft size that goes in above the bearing and under the bottom to help seal the water out. I also put a coat of silicone on the top of the bearing to keep water off the bearing seal. Lasted about 5or so years that way maybe even more can't remember that far back on it now. Ours was a 350 bushel model. Grain temperature was set at 118degrees and plenum was around 240 I think. That was the cut off limit and would be dry corn. Didn't matter if it was 20 or 30 it would be dry. We used to run ours with the MD would use 50 gallon in 24hours continuous running. Didn't even shut it off to grease would grease the while filling over the side. That bottom fill auger is a joke least little stick or walnut in the corn would stop it and burn the belts before you could get there to disconnect the drive. We went to filling over the side. We would add to it as it shrank so would be about full up when dry.

The load auger on this one has been modified to be used to unload instead, so I'll be loading over the side. He had made several modifications to make it run off electric but I'll go back to pto. This one doesn't show any rust or wear through, so that's good.
