AC 175 Diesel - Oil lube

When removing alternator from the AC175 the bracket that held the alternator to engine had two bolts. The bottom bolt was slotted seemingly for adjustment. It appears it allows flow for engine oil lubrication to timing gears? Is this correct? When I had failed to replace it due to misalignment it threw some oil out of bolt hole. Is there a specific setting for this to allow the correct lubrication?

I'm trying to make sense of your question. Why not put everything back where it was? I assume all was well.

I know there's a capscrew near that area of the engine where oil comes out if you remove it, as I did on mine. I just put it back in. It does nothing but plug the hole. I've never had the alternator mount off.
