Oldest tilt steering

I have been researching how to add tilt steering to my 1086 I-H. This got me to thinking who was the first manufacture to install tilt steering on a farm tractor?? I Know Ford had it on their 6000 tractors. Al

Oliver had it for a long time. Not sure of the year, but my brother in laws 1600 had it. It also had an extension option.

As far as I know,Oliver was the first with the 1600/1800. 86 series had a telescopic, but not a tilt. 56 and 66 had a tilt. But I dont think you easily convert. JD 30 series had the best, tilt and telescopic. That may be the system you should look at.

(quoted from post at 18:19:11 10/02/20) 57 was the first year of tilt steering for John Deer.

JD didn't have tilt steering that the angle of steering wheel could be easily altered until '73 on the Newer Generation 30 series rowcrop tractors.

It was an option on the 56and 66 series don't know about the 86 series. Probably was though. Never was around an oilver nor an allis. Deere was the best one I was around worked good and wasn't sloppy.
