in a 'pickle'

My friend called me this morning. Said he was "in a pickle". He bought a junk 9N at an auction for parts.Only pd a couple hundred, plus it had a loader.Just for giggles he poured some gas in and hooked up some jumper cables. It started! Acctually runs pretty good.Runs too good to part out.So still looking for a parts tractor.Pretty good 'pickle' to be in. LOL!

That's how it happens. He is in. I bought a MF 50 and a MH 50, two to make one. I just couldn't knock the MH 50 in the head. So I bought another MF 50 now three to make two, I hope.

Good Morning Steve & Wife

Looks like he got a good deal . It should of had a frozen or stuck engine setting that long abandoned , Hope that he gets many happy hours out of it .
Hows the weather there ? Still very Hot here in Chandler ,AZ.

I bought a chainsaw like that once, dirt cheap, same as one I have, I got it running real well, didn't need any parts so I sold it, made a few bucks!

My dad had a good friend, Floyd that was an IH tech back in the 50's. When Floyd retired he went to auctions and bought anything IH parted out or resold it. I don't know how many times he bought a Farmall H-560 parts tractor for nothing. Worked on it for ten minutes after the auction and drove it home! Dad always said everything Floyd touched turned to gold.

Once Floyd bought a 915 IH combine with a 345 gas truck engine. I think that thing used about 5-7 gal to the hour. Floyd sold it real quick!!

"I think that thing used about 5-7 gal to the hour."

Fuel use per hour is less than totally MEANINGLESS.

Fuel use PER ACRE harvested is what pays the bills (or doesn't)!
