john deere model a sealer on pushrod tubes

On my B the holes they went into were way oversized for some reason on some of them. Hardening Permatex did not work so on 2nd attempt I used JB Weld and that seemed to do the trick.

There is actually a tool that made to expand them once they are installed. Might try some white Locktite sealer . That stuff is really good.

how did you seal the tubes? we pressed them in with the special tools that it requires, but used no sealer they pressed in tight then we swedged them on the other end with the tools.

The white Locktite sealer is pretty good. I think they make one that seeps too but don't know the number off hand. Clean the head real good and apply a generous amount to both the tube and head and press them in.
