i am trying to find out if there is any engines that are a direct fit replacement for an international harvester dt429 its in a 250b track loader. any information will help i have spent coutless hours on internet with no information at all. anything will help thank you

Isnt three a 4100 or a 4156 farm tractor around ,or a 70 Hough loader used that engine also what happened your got a cracked block? i am also thinking the the 436 IHC engine will bolt up to the bell housing !! Thats what they used in the 4166,, there should be a lot of them around!!!

intake gasket went bad and filled engine completly full of water and froze during winter. didnt know till spring went to start and found out. i am in washington by everett. not as many of the tractors out here but i am still doing research on the daily to locate an engine. my father bought a school bus with a 360 ih and looks like going to have to build an adapter plate to fit. but cant realy find any information on the dt429 about what bolt pattern is on the back of the block. or if any other engines are the same. so thought i would see if anyone had any information on here

Well is that going to be big enough,i am almost positive the 436 will bolt up to the bell housing, and the smaller 407 Family engine too, seen a 429 in a 806. There is a company out in Pa, that builds bell housing adapters, but you shouldn't need one with the 436!

You are wasting your time the dt 360 will just barley move that 250 around and will not be able to
do any work. I have seen a few MACK truck engins put in the td 20 dozer but your best bet might be a 250 c
engine it would bolt right in. The man you need to contact is Tony Collins at 731 225 0154 he has
years of ih experience and can get you going.
