I want to change screen brightness, but the slider won't move. Tried several of the "fix it" explanations and none of them work.

Does anyone have a good plan that works?

Thanks

Ron

My wife will use her phone, her tablet and her laptop.
When she uses the laptop and gets P-O'd, I tell her use the mouse, it does not have a touchscreen.

I wasn't very clear. It's a computer - desk top tower and large screen monitor. Have Windows 10 which lists some things to try but none of them work.

If the under the edge menu for control fails to work, there is little hope. The brightness is not controlled by computer software. If it is too bright, you might put a self stick window tint film on it. Caution that might be permanent, so look through several shades before deciding on the one to use. If too dark.A new monitor will cure it. Jim

I think Jim is correct. Not an expert, but I've never seen a PC monitor that did not have its own adjustment controls. Have never looked at an all-in-one PC before so have no idea how they work, but look on your monitor for some sort of controls. Might be on the bottom underside of screen, or possibly on the side or back of screen.

Thanks to Jim and kcm. The edge controls on the monitor do work and I was able to lower the brightness. My mistake was that I was trying to do it through software settings via the System area. The setting was on 80 and I lowered it to 60. Much easier on the eyes. I'm going to try this for awhile. Maybe even try it lower later.
