neighbors 4020 broke the wide front off at the housing. that connects the front axle to the main frame on the tractor. in the deere parts book, it is just
called a bracket. the part number is ar69836. it is held in place with 4 bolts. two are 5/8 diameter bolts and two are 3/4 diameter bolts. is there a
specific torque setting for these bolts? here is a picture of the damage. tractor was running a brush hog at the time .

grade 5 5/8 bolts lubed 115 lbs. grade 8 160 lbs.
grade 5 3/4 bolts lubed 200 lbs. grade 8 280 lbs.
dont see where its broke. presume your saying the bracket broke , not the bolts. just make the tight with a 3/4 drive ratchet or impact. depends what bolts you have in there for torque.

Never figured out how you guys can pull that one off ? I guess some can ruin an anvil with a rubber hammer

bracket broke then snapped the 3/4 bolts off. i got the broken bolts out for him, got all new bolts from deere. have no idea why it broke, unless the front end fell in a hole in the past and started a hairline crack.

I agree on the hair line crack, metal seldome break's all at once! We would break the spindle's on our dads M,with the loader on it, it always amazed me how little was still holding when it finally broke off!

Ouch, others have given you what you need. Remember the bolts that attach the steering arm to the steering shaft are a special length.
