Planted my early rye yesterday. Deere 2510 gas and 8300 drill with a cultipacker. The rest will be notilled after soybeans. Bean harvest is getting close. Tom

Do you cut the rye for forage, or combine it ?

We combine it and sell the grain for cover crop seed and market the straw in small square bales. Tom

I will be planting rye this week on the 20 acres I just finished chopping. My drill is an old IH high wheel model. I hope to make bleached straw from it next spring, before I seed down those fields.
