Case 350 transmission differential?

Hey guys, just servicing the old crawler. For starters, the manual Calls for gl1 mineral gear oil.... what would be an acceptable modern day substitute for this fluid? Secondly, the differential only has a plug to add fluid through, how much fluid goes in considering there is no sight glass, dipstick, or check level plug? And thirdly, as seen in picture, the “transmission”, the right hand circle, also takes gl1 straight mineral gear oil? Thanks guys!

the mineral gear oil is still available today same specs DO NOT use oil and with EP additives in it or the steering bands will be junk, they have a dip stick for level, its right in your parts break down above or should be unless someone removed it,its in the same tube you fill it with

So just so I understand correctly, the transmission and differential housings are connected internally?(left and right circle in pic)

Yes transmission and diff are one the fwd/rev shuttle is another separate housing,, and that uses the front dipstick just under the brake pedal, I not only own a 350 today we sold them new,, lots of them, i can snap a few pics of mine if you like and circle the check/fill tubes if that would help explain it more

agreed its not clear on my end to read the number well, and I did not grab a parts book or ops yet to post pics,, there are only two fill/check tubes that come through the floor plate
