Pricing locally on a 8x12 trashy wooden
building is more than a 8x40 shipping
container. How big a tractor does it take
to pull the empty 5K box? And can a
delivery driver besides Jon from MN turn
off a 20'road thru a 20'driveway without
screwing something up? Looking for y'alls
experiences...

How you move it is important. How far do you have to go? Cut some logs or use posts as rollers and move it along. It will be slow and a pain the rear but it can be done.

A 20 ft is over 5000 and it takes a lot of force if your dragging one on the ground .now if it’s on steel pipe(I use 2 7/8 oilfield pipe) it’s a lot easier.use the pipe as rollers on the ground

If the driver is any good, he can get it in there.

These generally come on a Landoll type trailer. The axles on these can slide back and forth from the rear to the middle of the trailer. Worst case the driver can shorten up his wheelbase for better maneuverability. I've even seen them use the trailer to push themselves out of a muddy situation.

A 40' box weighs close to 9,000 pounds depending on what it is. I would think a 20' road and 20' drive shouldn't be much trouble unless it's swamp all around. I frequently get off 20' roads through 10' gates.

Thanks guys. Will scrounge up some pipe rollers for sure. Main concern is truck making the turn. Biggest straight truck I've seen make it was the lumberyard 28' flat.

I would use creosote electric poles, 8'+ long.
As they are unloading place a pole under it every so often.
Then you don't have to jack or lift it at all.
Pull around to where you want it and leave the poles under it.
If soft ground you might need to use some whole poles as rails to get the rollers to roll.
