Another birthday

Made it another year.

I talk about ytmag to my dad enough that he asked me to post a birthday photo to commemorate the first new tractor HIS father purchased.

The Graham bradley in the photo came to the farm on Sept 11, 1938. My dad watched it drive down the road and pull up the lane into the farm. A plowing demonstration was held against the neighbors oliver hart parr 80.

My dad as well the G B have covered many thousands of acres over the years. But both are still in original working condition with very few replacement parts.

My dad recalls a very different world back 82 years ago.

Just sharing thoughts and memories.

Every once in a while we get the treat of reading about stories of farming past that really kinda hit us here (in a good way) here on YT.

Thanks for posting this story today.

And yes, your dad seems quite proud - as well he should. Please give him our thanks for helping to feed this growing nation throughout the MANY historical events of its past.

I just want to say "thanks for not destroying old stuff"
I come here to see all the good old days as people say.
seeing a pic of original like that, your dad included just makes me happy.
nice old barn dirty tractor with a bit of dust around.(priceless)
I know my family thinks I'm weird but I just love the old stuff.
