drawbar for IH 404 utility

This tractor has 3 pt lift drawbar, but no "solid" drawbar.
I want to pull a tree over and would like to know if pulling with a solid drawbar is better than the 3 pt drawbar if physics were considered.
I have shopped for a factory bar but no luck.
The under belly front mount is in place, just need a solid bar to install.

If you use that drawbar to pull with a chain for any reason, keep the drawbar below the level of the rear axle, pin a clevis to the
axle and put the chain thru the clevis. If you wrap the the chain around the drawbar you will bend it.

You want to pin the clevis to the drawbar.
 
I have been skidding firewood logs for 30 years with a 2424 using only the 3 pt drawbar. I have a solid one, but it was cobbled up and did not fit correctly, so I took it off. But as noted - be very careful! I think your tractor has a short wheelbase like mine, which makes it even more prone to raise the front end off the ground when putting weight on the drawbar.

I recently read an article about tractor associated rear rollovers and the dangers of improperly hitching, especially attachment of the tow chain to a point above the drawbar. I know you are not proposing to do that, but be careful. I was unaware of this specific danger and I remember wrapping a chain around the rear axle of a tractor to pull / drag something on at least one occasion. I wont do that again. There are many documents that warn of this danger, here is one.
