minneapolis moline m5 and ih-100 mower cutting hay

Really too difficult a question. Not only might there be substantial consequences for us, but the consequences beyond are staggering. Jim

I'm telling you all right now if my wife ever comes on here telling you folks she wants to sell my tractors. DO NOT HELP HER. It is a hoax. I DO NOT WANT TO SELL ANY OF MY TRACTORS.

If I recall he passed away over a year
ago. Hopefully some one will come along
with some help on value of the tractor.
My condolences.

First off he was the really nice fellow that used to post on here and passed away awhile back.To Mrs Carvel Minne Farmer that was a really nice tractor he spent a lot of time restoring as well as I remember so it definitely has some value in it but tractor prices are a very local thing it seems these days so I'd advise getting some input in your area would be best for setting a price.

We really enjoyed John's posts about tractors and welders and all kinds of things. As a previous poster noted, tractor prices are very regional. Perhaps some of the Alberta and BC guys could offer some suggestions. unc

hi susan, i am not all that far away from his place, im from westlock, and saw the work on here he was doing to the tractor. these old
tractor prices are way down now. you could put it on auction in one of prodaniuk's auction sales , as he has an antique tractor auction
coming in sept i think. or just advertize it . an approx. price i would think wound be somewhere around the 3-4 k. dont hold me to that as
its just an approx guesstimation or ball park figure. i think that was a 670 minne he had? or was it 2 he had?

Susan, please accept my sympathies on the passing of your husband. I used to enjoy his posts here on the forum. Hope you are able to get a good price for the tractor.

Being a Minnie Mo nut but down in Texas I am fairly sure he had a couple of M5s, which were replaced by the M602 in late 1963 and then the M670 in late 1964. Same engine. As restored as I remember his M5 was I would think at least 3 to 4k (US$) for a value.

I would say this is how most of us feel
here at YT. I would not have been able to
say it so well.

(quoted from post at 15:33:10 08/31/20) Hi, im Susan , Carvel minne farmer , wife
I want to sell the minneapolis that john has, how can I find out how much
Thank you

Unfortunately there's no book or website where you can just go look up tractor values, because condition and location can prompt huge, almost unpredictable, swings in price.

You may want to engage a local auctioneer or two for an appraisal, if you don't mind a bit of hassle and a couple of followup sales calls.

It does not help that that is not a common tractor. If it is in particularly nice shape, it might be worth putting it in one of the larger collector auctions such as Mecum, rather than trying to sell it locally. The wider you can cast your net for potential buyers, the better the price you will get for the tractor.

But, I do really suggest that the best thing is to seek out local help, because they can lay eyes and hands on the machinery and give you a much better assessment than we could from a vague description.

Go online to Aumann Auctions and check them out. They just
added sell from your location, so no hauling expenses and
National exposure. Call them, they would have a good
estimate on value. Sorry for your loss and what you are
having to go through. Chris
