front WHEEL ADJUSTMENT. I WAS MOVING MY FRONT TIRES IN AND UNDERSTAND HOW IT WORKS WITH REMOVING THE BOLT. cAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW I MOVE THE TIE ROD IN. UNDERSTAND THAT I NEED TO LOOSEN THE CLAMP BUT DO TYE TIE RODS SLIDE IN OR TURN IN? I TRIED PUSHING THE IN AND COULDN'T GET THEM TO MOVE,,Thanks

Probably froze (rusted) up lots of snake oil and heat will make it move. Could also tie it off to a tree or timber and turn the wheel with all the bolts out. Once it moves you will be able to get it set to your spot.

Just rusted. It will (at minimum)require heat. Heat it cheery red, then imediately douse it with cold water. It may take a couple of tries.I,ve had them where you need to acctually split the tube with a cuttoff wheel on a grinder to let them relax/open up before they would move. Also, they could be bent slightly, further complicateing things. After all,it's 70+ plus years old and may never have been moved.

Rods that are rusted inside tubes can often be broken loose by putting the thing on an anvil and tapping/hitting it with a hammer along the length and around and around.
