Farmall Model A plow

This last weekend i used my belly mount plow for my farmall Model A. Single moldboard plow model # A-91 I had problems that maybe someone could give advice. I was using the plow and it was working fine. All of a sudden it stopped cutting the furrow. What had happened that the plow got twisted. I disconnected it and reinstalled it. I started plowing again and after cutting my furrow it got twisted again. Every time it gets twisted that handles get jammed up not allowing me to raise it. I have to disconnect and reinstall and it works fine. My tractor club was just having fun plowing a field. Since I am new to this can anyone give me some pointers or advise why this is happening. Basically it turns to the right all the way up tom where the plow mounts to the front bracket. thanks for the help. I have included a picture. If you like you can contact me directly to my email [email protected]

Bobo641 by the picture taken at the rear of your plow it looks like your coulter is set way too far out to the left. The coulter should be almost in line with the landside of the plow without touching the plow shear or mold board. I don't know the exact measurement or settings I would have to look thru some of my books to find that for you.

It was closer but it moved over when the plow got twisted when using. I am just trying to figure out why it moved with the moldboard facing towards the sky. It was no big deal to disconnect from rear rockshaft and then reconnect. I just want to know if it is suppose to twist to prevent damage or some other reason. I was plowing a field with my tractor club and it happened 3 times. Thanks

raise the left side of the tractor 6", drop the plow, and make sure the point of the share is digging in and that the landslide is flat to the bottom. looking at the pictures, i'm assuming the plow was hooked up to the front bracket, but it looks like you need to lower the tiller arm to get the point to dig in more and adjust the crank on the rock shaft so the landslide is flat in the furrow.

Most likely your plow is not set correctly. with your tire in the furrow the left side of the plow tilted up and the front of the plow up instead of pointed down the share would act as a wedge and twist your plow. Set it up correctly and it will work. Put left rear tire up on 6 inch block move coulter in line with landside adjust plow so it is level side to side and the nose of the plow slightly down. If you can adjust it so it is 12 inches from the inside of the right tire.
