Hi guys, I just picked up a Case 300 and i have a few questions about it and thought this would be the best place to ask.
First is, is there a place i could find the user manual? I need to set the carb properly and check the wiring(it has been butchered pretty bad)
Second is, is hydraulic transmission oil ok for the torque tube and also for the rear end?(its triple range)
Thanks for your help

Case still sells the best quality ops and parts books,, hyd/transmission oil is fine in the torque tube, axle/transmission use 85-90 wt oil, the ops manual has the wiring diagram in it

The torque tube takes 30 wt. motor oil and the rear end takes gear oil. The torque tube is the hydraulic oil reservoir, I so guess hydraulic oil would be OK. If the rock shaft
O-ring seals leak the torque tube oil can end up in the rear end, so keep an eye on the torque tube oil level.

Having rescued two 300s, I've found it much easier to get things lined out with the side panels and hood removed. Other than fighting rusty screws on a
cross brace in front of the radiator, it's an easy job to take off in one piece with the help of another person. I found used original Case service and parts
manuals, with minimal greasy finger prints and coffee stains, on the Internet/eBay. Made my own Case color coded wiring harness, soldering each
connecter (used a grinder to take off the plastic) and covering each with shrink tape. In the long run the extra work is worth it. In the Case forum
archives there is lots of how to fix on this model.

the only reason the book calls for 30 or 90wt in the torque tube is if you have no hyd, other wise it would have used 10wt for the hyd system when the tractor came out,, starting in the mid 50's CASE came with TCH aka Transmission/Convertor/ Hyd oil, I did not post all that before as we as a dealer and as CASE recommended, you to use the TCH in place of the before suggested oil of 10wt/ATF for hyd systems prior to its release,, I like to make sure someone know the Correct fluids used as sometime people get confused when reading a manual, the VA Series before the 100 Series also takes the same recommendations I stated

Thanks all for the information. I put new 1/0 cables for the battery and did the wiring over. It runs pretty good for something that has been neglected for years.
