So I have 2 NH850 balers and both in theory should work. The one I was using today the right hand side hyd cylinder started leaking so bad it cannot be used till fixed. The other baler has been sitting for 4 plus year out side not being used. Has a flat tire and the chains are rusty etc.
So I figure it is easier and better of to swap hyd cylinders then to oil up and change the tire etc.
I have hay down and raked by the way.

I have an old 850 as well. Used it for years. Change the cylinder. That may even be easier than changing the tire, let alone all the trouble the idled baler could cause,

Charged the cylinder and the 2 hoses where on the cylinder leaked so had to change the hoses also but still all an all easier to do then get the parked one up and running but hope to do that this fall

Don't have any neighbors that could do that plus most of the neighbors I do have are north ends of a south going mule. Or in other words only good for targets if that was legal that is

thats too bad, I have very good neighbors, been helping each other out for years. In fact they just returned a hay rack I loaned them a few weeks ago. makin smalls in a couple days. Good luck with your project, with hay on the ground, everything that could go wrong would for me. gobble

I can almost bet I have lost over $50,000 due to the jack A neighbors I have. They force restriction on me that where not here when my parent bought this land but yet I am force to live with them

When I moved here in July of 1980 I had good neighbors but since then they have died or moved of both and the one who came in are nothing more then then the type that are only good for fertilizer as in put them in the ground

i would have changed tires and oiled the chains and wear some of that rust off. i had to pull on tire off my 851 because i forgot to fill it with air and the weight of the bale knocked it off its bead. had to remove it air it up and install it again. but i cheated , used a front end loader to lift baler with a chain after dumping bale.

Had I done it your way I would have also had to replace the 2 hyd hoses that I found bad plus the tire plus the rusted chain oiling so in the long run changing the cylinder was by far faster and easier

If you were closer I’d bring my inline Case IH and finish for you. It’s never seen rain since I bought it 20 years ago.

I found I have a 13.6X38 tire on a rim that I had forgotten about having. Some one had done so stupid welding on the rim so I had to grind that off but so far it is working
