A co-worker gave me a low hour 6500 gas kohler generator.he couldn’t get it to run and got frustrated with it.replaced the fuel supply hose,an o -ring and cut the needle off of the electric fuel cut-off that was bad on the bottom of the carburetor.runs great!i shut the fuel off and let it die so it doesn’t backfire if I were to just kill it with the switch.just in time we have 2storms coming this way

got to love those cheap easy fixes!

some years back I got a nice kerosene/#1 diesel turbo heater for cheap, all it needed was a new igniter which cost me all of $5

I was given a slightly used but inoperative Honda-powered pressure washer "for parts". The engine ran fine but the pump would not build pressure.

Discovered the screen behind the inlet hose connector was plugged solid with rust/pipe scale. A couple minutes cleaning the screen and wound up with a nice-running pressure washer. Can't beat that price!!

Over the last 4 years, I've junk picked 3 6,000+ watt generators. Yet to spend $3 on all of them. All they've needed is a good carb. cleaning. Love the ethanol gas. Get a steady supply of power equipment because of it.
