J.I. Case question.

Okay this is your post for all of you J.I. Case people out here. The question is Many years ago I bought two case 430 (440) tractors from a tractor salvage yard. I had to make one tractor trying to keep it all one unit with in the proper cast numbers and serial number. The serial number of 8275508 and the engine serial number of 2125395. gasoline 148 engine and a triple speed transmission. Now what I am looking for is the reverse fork and rail for the shifter. Does any body have a clue on the right reverse fork for this tractor. I have one but it does not fit and I think the rail is wrong for the shifter. Does any body have any knowledge on this matter. Yes I have tried my local case in Nevada. they have not got back with me on an answer. So that is why I am posting this here. Thanks.

Try down at the case forum. I'm not up on the small frame tractors, but several down there know them well.

Best to get yourself a parts manual and get the numbers of the parts your looking for. Then you will be able to search the Internet and salvage yards. Unless you have numbers, the guy/gal on the other end of the phone won't have a clue what your wanting in most cases. There are guys with unbelievable knowledge on the Case site as jon f mn suggested.

If you are still looking for Case part, you might go to the first page of tractor talk today, Thurs, the 20th, and look for a post by Fred Goodrich. Try to email him, he has lots of parts for Case. If email is not open, tele is 607-642-3293. I have got parts for 530ck from him as well as other parts and a whole tractor. His yard is a museum of older stuff. Worth a try...
