Found this yesterday on a farm where my niece is renting a house the owner is 65 yrs old his grandfather built this back in the 40s it used to have a windmill on top to pump water for cattle

Was showing this to the wife when a thought occurred to me. I wonder if by chance that windmill was built to perform double duty, such as milling grains when not needed for pumping water? Maybe even for powering a saw? Depends on how much power the windmill could produce.
