Mowing buffer strips-- {weeds}

We are not supposed to mow the CRP until after the 15th of Aug. so I went out this morning and did some more. Son and I have an agreement--He uses my stuff and I use his so I took his Deere 4630 and HX-14--I have a MX-8 with 2 rotors with 2 blades on each and his HX rotors has 4 blades on each rotor and it does a lots better job-sucks it up after you run over it and mulches it better-plus ya get more done.

And alot of Bull thistles

Things are dry here and it was like mowing no. 9 wire

Man! Thats a sweet rig. I was out mowing pastures the other day and beat the living snot outta my 5ft brush hog on a unexpected rock, oh well not like I didn't need a deck already.

I have 150 acres on my farm. No row crops of any kind. A lot of it is woodland and STEEP hills with about 20 acres of hay ground. I bale small squares and sell them to horsey people and a few cattlemen. I used to have a pretty large herd of black Angus cattle to keep it eaten down, but I sold off my herd about a 1 1/2 years ago, so now I have way too much permanent pasture to bush hog. I, too, have a 5 foot bush hog. If I ran 24 hours a day, I don't expect that I'd ever get it completely mowed.

we had wild parsnip all over here last year......n central illinois. this year, i havent seen any. i dunno.

It finally got dry enough I could mow some waterways. The weeds so tall and thick that it pull the heck out of the 4250 with a 15 foot bushing.

To get rid pf the bull thistles you should clip by hand and put in bag and put in your burn barrel. Mowing them spreads those seeds by the millions.
