Tractor tires, Alliance BKT Harvest King?

Several years ago I ruined a rear tire on my Ford 3000, replaced it with a Akuret Agria-Trac 12.4 28 bought locally. Now it's time to replace the other rear tire and of course Akuret tires are now made of unobtainum.

Looking at ~300 dollar tires I find Alliance, BKT and Harvest King. My 3600 has Harvest Kings, were on it new when I bought it 6 years ago and they have been pretty good. Reviews on Alliance and BKT are mixed enough to make me not real confident in either. Not many reviews on the Harvest Kings.

Opinions...

Not one of those but I bought a tractor that had a new Sampson tire, made in China, surprisingly it has held up very well doing disking and brush hogging in some rough areas.

I have a pair of BKT 12.4 x 28 bought in 2011. They have about 700 hours of mowing and other work as well as bunch of tractor ride miles on them. They have held up well and have had only one flat due to
mesquite thorns. BKT quality may have changed though.

The BKT tire is smaller in size when compared to most other brands same
size. Look close and compare overall size to the one your matching. You
may have to go up one size. BKT is not close in size to USA tires.

I really like the Galaxy tire I put on my Ford a few years ago.
12.4-28.
Used all the time and holding up very well.
Never on the road though with that tractor.
Was a little over $300.
And I really like the tread design.
And just went out and looked.
Can still read the size on the tread as clear as when it was new.

I like the BKT's I put on my 100 hp. I use this tractor on road lots and they are wearing better then any other tire I have had. What I would do is buy a pair of new ones and advertise your stray. Then you
don't have to worry about size difference, someone is looking for one good used one and will pay much for it and you have a brand new matching set to enjoy on your tractor for many years to come.

BKT radials have a much better reputation than their bias ply tractor tires. My local farm tire supplier will no longer sell their bias line as
he has had too many failures with them. He does sell a lot of their radials, though, and in fact recommends them to anyone not wanting to spend
as much as the Firestone s cost.

Thanks for the input guys...

Wished I could afford to buy two new tires but right now not in the budget. Ordered a Harvest King hoping it will be close to the one that is on it. $342.44 shipped from SimpleTire

It has had mismatched rears for the last 6 years. Expecting the H.K. to be closer to matching the Akuret than what it has now.

My experience with ?Akurets has not been good. I would never buy another one again. It is like the rubber inside the tire is to thin and the fibers are coming through chaffing the tube causing the tubes to leak. I wound up making a liner from one of the old tubes and gluing to the new tube then putting in tire. Has held for a few years now. My brother has a set of tires with the same tread as in the picture of the galaxy in this post. Their probably about 10-15 years old now. Came on the tractor when he got it. they are cracking between the lugs now. May have to change them in the future next 10 years.

I bought a used tractor last year with Alliance on one rear and HK on the other. R1 tread pattern of HK is fatter and less slope than Alliance....same
numerical size, air pressure. Hooking up the plow, the HK out pulls the Alliance.

Figured by going with the H.K. odds are better I might find another when and if I have to replace the Akuret.
