Hesston 4650 baler help needed!

So my baler broke the stripper arm and it damaged the cam gear. Parts prices and part numbers are all over the place. Is anyone on
here familiar with witch parts from Case and Massey will interchange? Can I use a 700709742 gear? It is half the price of the
700122623 gear. Thanks!!

As far as I know all parts between the same models of Hesston and CaseIH branded in-line balers will interchange assuming they are of the same vintage to capture the serial number breaks for revisions. The CIH equivalent to your 4650 is the 8550. To answer your other question the 700709742 gear has a 35mm diameter bore with 10mm keyway compared to the 700122623 gear's 1.125" (~28.5mm) bore and 5/16" (~8mm) keyway along with some differences in the casting itself. So, no, they are not interchangeable. The 700709742 gear is still in production on current-model balers which would explain why it is much less expensive.
