John Deere 5400 Stuck in Park

I parked my JD 5400 in barn and now it's stuck in Park. I've tried rocking it to see if there was pressure needing release. Backed off the stop on the park, forward, reverse leaver to make sure that wasn't a restriction. Anyone encountered this?

Is the actual lever stuck, or does the lever move but "Park" not release?

If the lever won't move, moisture that has gotten past a failed rubber shifter boot may have rusted it solid.

(The rubber boots on those commonly rot/fail.)

Thanks for thiughts. The lever moves but not quite to the forward) reverse slot. I've had this happen before when the loader bucket is pushing against force when the tractor is placed into Park but it has always released when I rolled the bucket to release the tension on the drive train. This is the first time I simply parked the tractor and the leaver won't move enough to release from Park even when I've tried rocking the tractor. It
