Spreading lime

How much of a pain would it be to spread powdered lime with a boardcast spreader with a auger in side? Mine is a 500 pound.

If the spreader is rectangular and you can dump into it and the lime comes bulk it would be easy provided the auger is large enough to overcome the tendency of the lime to bridge over

We used a salt/sand spreader with a 10 inch apron chain and it still bridged. Rent a buggy or have it done with a regular lime truck. We
get pelletized lime for small plots.... but is is expensive!

I know its expensive for pellets, the trouble is fining someone with a truck to come a spread it.

Itll completely depend on the lime. If its damp at all, youll have a ton of problems. Same if its too fine. Around here the local co-ops and county extension offices rent lime buggies.
