605F Vermeer baler belt question

What is the best way to flip over a flipped or turned baler belt on a 605F Vermeer baler? There is no way to lessen the tension on them much like the newer balers. Just bought one and getting it ready to go bale. Hopefully I wont have a problem with it but..... lol

I have no experience with a Vermeer rd baler BUT if one can't easily remove belt tension I bet it's difficult to change lacing pins or install new belts. If it was me & there was no manufactured method to loosen belt tension I'd utilize a "come-a-long" to relieve tension on belts.

Do you have an operator's manual???

Tx Jim has it.
Use a come along and perhaps a piece of chain between the top stationary roller and the roller beneath it that moves as the bale diameter changes. Crank the variable roller up, to simulate the bale getting larger, this takes tension off the belts.

Yup. With the door open and safety set, go in back and step on a belt, it will move the tensioner arm and all the other belts will be loose, often are on their own but if you put your weight on one belt it gets even looser. Pretty easy then to flip the belt back right. Not a big deal. They aren’t tight when the baler is open.

Paul & TXJim have it right. After belt is loose take the pin out of the lace and straighten the belt. Something caused the belt to flip, usually hay wrapped around a roller. Check all your scrapers. Need an owners manual & read it cover to cover.

If I'm not mistaken, the F doesn't have any sort of safety locks. There's really no reason to open the door, a come along works fine.

Thank you for the replies. I have found nothing much in detail in the operators manual about it. There is a safety lock for the tailgate but I've never wanted to trust them completely. Used to run my cousins 1560 MF which is the same baler but don't remember what we used to do with it. I remember it was a pain, so one drove very carefully lol.
