Coulda been worse

Just left the scene of where little brother wrecked his truck and camper. The truck is totaled and they were picking the camper up in pieces. He wound up with a concussion and a bit tongue and a whole bunch of sore and the sister in law just got some bangs and bruises. Just looking at the whole mess it coulda been a whole lot worse. Little brother is probably one of the most cautious drivers I know. Got a cdl and uses it to make a living and as best I can remember I think this is only his second wreck and the first one the deer ran into him. He said he got a vibration in the front and the next thing was a hard left that he couldn’t get back from. The truck was a 08 Dodge 4x4 dually with a Cummins in it. Gonna be a tough one to figure out. Just thankful nobody got hurt worse than they did.

Glad it wasn't worse and that everyone will recover.

I don't recall the years/models covered but there was an issue with tie rods (IIRC) on the dodge trucks about that time frame and I thought there was a recall on the parts. Had a buddy with a similar experience and it took a while to get his truck replaced (he has a 3500 with the single rear).

Tie rod ends and track bars along with ball joints , wheel bearings . The whole ft end is a flippen nightmare . I have a 95 and been thru that several times .

Tell him to take it easy head concussions can be worse then people think my doctor explained it that if you hurt your knee you stay off it until it heals so its same with the brain a concussion is a bruise he told me to lay in a dark room and rest

Glad it wasn't any worse, hope they recover quickly.

Probably never know for sure what happened if there were no other vehicles involved.

Those things can be investigated, but it gets expensive.

I don't suppose you know if there was a blown tire? My 98 Dodge Dually had a terrible death wobble before I got it fixed but it always stayed straight until I got down to 20 MPH to get it to settle down. It just annoyed the heck out of me. The front end was gone through last year with a new trac bar and a couple of tie rod ends along with a realignment. That solved the problem until last spring when I went over a really rough bridge that started the wobble again. It hasn't done it since though but now I am always wary of it. It's still too bad about your son't situation though.
