John Deere 2032 R

I have a friend that older his JD compact 2032 tractor over on its side. Now there s no power to he console.. Any ideas on what might have happened and where to start looking. He says the battery is ok. ThankS

The best friend for this first diagnosis is a simple $10.00 test light. It is used to trace voltage. The light has a wire with a clip to attach to the grounded battery cable on the battery. The light kinda looks like an ice pick. touching a voltage source will light up the handle of the tool. First place to check is the opposite battery post (not the cable end, but the lead post as it comes out of the battery. if it lights, try it on the battery cable clamp. If it lights, there is power getting to that cable. Next test the cable where it attaches to the starter motor switch (solenoid) this process is continued until the broken wire, bad fuse, bad relay, bad connection, or failed component is found. You can do the firat things easily, but a wiring diagram (and maybe more experienced help) will be needed. Jim

I would start looking around the battery area for a disconnected, cut, burned wire.

Typically there will be a wire, usually a 10 gauge, coming from the positive battery cable, either at the battery end or the starter solenoid end, that feeds all the accessories.

If the battery fell it may have pulled that wire loose, or shorted it and burned it into.

Sometimes there is a fuse link wire, a short section of wire designed to burn out to protect the rest of the wiring. Or there may be an inline fuse.
