I need a longer coil wire for a electronic conversion I am doing on a Ford 8N with a front mount distributor with a round can coil. I need to make a longer coil wire. Will a 7 MM suppression spark-plug wire work? The wire will need to be 15 to 20"s long.

Make sure to get a good crimp on the ends so they won't pull off and you will be fine.

Is there a special tool for crimping ends onto ignition cable? I haven't come across that.

es. You can buy the right tool from any auto parts store, or you can go online and choose that way. I still use the blocks provided with a set of Accel wires. You put one half in a vise and hit the other half with a hammer to create the correct crimp. Have had them at least 20 years or more.
