Cub Cadet 7532

More of a modern tractor, but I have a Cub Cadet 7532 with the hydrostatic transmission. I got it after it has sat outside under a tarp for 12 years. I got most of the bugs worked out and have it running
well. It has a rear pto and manual says w/ the hydrostatic transmission it is a live pto. My problem is when i push in the clutch and try to engage the PTO i just get grinding, i have to just force pto into
gear by a hard grind. I can't start the tractor with PTO engaged, it is too smart. Any ideas what my problem might be. I'm not even sure what a clutch does on a hydrostatic transmission. Is my clutch
not allowing pto to engage? Any ideas. What should i look at to get PTO fixed, so it goes smoothly into gear.

I am not certain, but there could be a switch on the dash that turns on and shuts off the PTO. The lever might disengqage it. OR the clutch might be frozen on. Google the 7532 PTO clutch. Jim

I have a CC 7000 straight gear drive but similar to yours. The rear PTO can be engaged at any time without using the clutch, that's weird that they would have changed it.

Went out and checked mine out apparently you have a mechanically engaging PTO,what may be the problem is the clutch just needs to be adjusted.Once the PTO is
engaged if you shove the clutch all the way down does the PTO shaft stop running?

Another thought after looking at a parts breakdown for my tractor is the PTO disc is stuck after sitting so long.Is the clutch for the tractor and PTO or just the PTO since its a hydro? If just the PTO then you could put a tiller on the tractor and hold the clutch down while tilling might break it loose.

I think you may be right, when i disconnect the clutch rod, it moves pretty easily. Kinda tells me it's not engaging the clutch. Now how to free it up?
