Has anything new been planned for that site? Looks pretty rough on satellite view.

I'm not "up to speed" to know where those combines are built now.

The Google Aerial view displays utter devastation. However, if you go to the street view which was from about a year ago, they appear to be beyond the planning stage. There's a Hyatt Hotel and some other businesses in place.

This is an aerial of the Deere Harvester Works which is right next door and shown in the previous aerial picture. Deere is a modern facility whereas International never updated their plant. They were trying to build modern combines in a plant with 14' high ceilings. Moving to Grand Island meant a brand new modern plant, no union and a much better tax environment.

Illinois doesn't care about manufacturing and has too much government. Raised taxes to a prohibitive level.
 
if you lived in IL you wouldn't have to ask I would like to move to Wisconsin myself.
