Ended up with twice as much off these two than last year it’s amazing what a Little fertilizer and weed control will stacked 15.5 ton in 2.5 hours including driving to and from field and also delivering a bale of triticale I sold and a stop at the store for a glass of ice water

I see your "side-kick" was settled in next to your leg. Hope he got a ice cream bar or at least an ice water, too. My Dad's heeler used to love ice cream. Great way to start the haying season.

Yes it can I was surprised. It’s hard to judge anything as far as yields cutting with a sickle mower

Nice!

Seen some people use a hoop of known area and measure several locations in their field to sample yield averages, then extrapolate out to the whole field area to get a guess of total yield.

Not sure if this works, but seemed a neat way to guestimate total yield.

When you worked the field, did you broadcast or drill? If drilled, what spacing?

Those are some good lookin' rounds! Won't let my dog on the tractor. He's too restless. Wagon rides, yes. If it's the little red trailer behind the garden tractor or an empty hay rack, great. He opted to jump in the empty spreader last fall between loads. Not so great. He cleared the top of the beater on the way in & shot out between the beater & floor on his way out after being scolded. Still don't know how in the heck he didn't hit the beater.

Drilled in the fall at 10 inch spacing with a John Deere hoe drill . I didn’t pull the cultivator in front last year because I ran the pan breaker and then disked twice . The ground was so mellow I couldn’t believe it

That must be a pretty energetic dog alright. Ringo grew up on the tractor he was 8 weeks old riding between the window and fender on a 4430 baling hay
