i drug my old oliver out of the weeds and decided to put it together. had it sitting here for 20 years like that. my neighbour's dad bought it new. he is the one that took it apart 25 years ago like that due to stuck engine sitting.i have never saw this tractor run. i figure it has been sitting 50 years not running. i finally had time due to this virus and rain. it

Is that an 88 Standard? If so, they are scarce in our part of the world. Good luck finding all the parts! It'll be great to see it when you get it done.

was having computer issues so catch up on what i did.

yes standard model. in all these years i found a couple parts units. one had a decent engine so used that. installed a new clutch disc at the same time.

kept it all original with the 6 volt starter and generator. little things left like fix charging and lights.and to find tires those are rotten. took me 4 hrs to get the left rear rim off due to calcium rust . runs and drives very good . sure is a bear to steer though. was a nice 2 week project.

Nice! Call me “Old School”, but I admire a guy who keeps the charging system original.

Man, does that look great. Need to bring it to our tractor show in Delmont, SD on September 12 & 13. We are still planning to go, and we're featuring Oliver this year.

A little of Red-Green's favorite tape and some fresh acid for the electrolyte. Then I'll bet that battery will charge right up!

haa, ya i bet. i might have to change my handle to "rustredgreen". i have all colors of tractors though. kinda needed a change of color for a few days. lol.

Very nice, almost all Olivers up here are standard wheel configuration. And don't you dare ever consider painting that beautiful tractor.

i went over the rust with scotch bright pads, then wiped it down with WD40. i should have at least put the tin under cover to save 20 years
of outside weather. hard to find these side panels or most are all bent up.

(quoted from post at 04:44:17 07/11/20) If you would turn the front rims around so they are closer to the spindle, it will steer easier.
that dont work on these rims. they only go on one way. where u come up with that?
