Case 970 Oil

Yes, like I say it has been a while since I have been in
one. What ever is sealing the input shaft as it comes
out of the powershift clutch housing. See the link for
the parts diagrams, it has been to long I can’t direct
you to the most likely culprit. Maybe Case Nutty will
come back and clarify. When you reply here on the
same topic you should keep replying inside your first
topic like you did when you replied about the grease
not being available in Canada. Now you have it all
spread out and lso others like Jacksun can’t see it is a
powershift because you said you have it split to
replace the torque limiter.

There is no clutch as most think of it with a case powershift.
On the flywheel there is a clutch like mechanism with a disc
and pressure plate called a torque limiter, but it does not
release. It is there to protect the engine and transmission
during shifts. It runs in transmission oil. The clutch action you
get when you push the clutch happens in the powershift
clutches.

That's all I needed to hear. Trans oil in bellhousing with limiter clutch is supposed to be there. Thankyou very much. My initial question is finally answered

Ford, I beg you to accept my humble apologies for misleading you. So this proves it has been to long since I
was into a Case power shift. I confused it with the John Deere design that uses a dry torque limiter. I should
have known when I looked at the parts page and it did not show a seal or any real separation that in ran in oil.
