Can I run 9n over poly pipe?

Im thinking of installing irrigation pods that are basically a sprinkler in each pod and connected with poly pipe, either 1.5 or 2 inch. My question is these poly pipes will be above ground. Can I run over these with say a Ford 9n without breaking them? Ive never used poly so I have no idea how strong it is.

Poly pipe won't break. It should squish
down then rebound to approximately what
it was before. The thin sprinkler poly
will most likely fatique if constantly
driven over in the same spot then it will
split. I would throw some dirt over my
drive lanes and not worry about it.

I agree with flying belgian, bury it a few inches, you can just pull it out if you want to move it. You won't do it any good driving over it, with an ATV with 3 lb. in the tires OK, not a 9N.

You didn't mention how long your runs would be, how much water pressure, or how often these sprinklers/hoses might need to be moved.

Instead of poly pipe, you could use lay-flat hose and clamp-on end fittings. Most any hardware store should have everything you might need.

You would probably have to bury the pipes about 6" before you could do that. Another option, you might make a wooden ramp to go over the pipes if you need to leave them on the surface.

It might take it fine a time or two.

Repeatedly, I think you will break it down.

What they do is burry it with a scoop of dirt over the top of the crossing spot. Doesn’t take much, couple inches. Avoid sharp crushed rock as a cover, sand or dirt
should be good.

Apparently this was 'posed' by a Belgian fire crew with time on their hands after a fire, as a 'hoax' photo for facebook in 2014........or so they say!!

Kinda depends on what sort of soil they're on and whether or not they're under pressure. If they're empty and on hard ground, I can't see them lasting more than a few passes.

It is possible to bury them quick and easily by laying it in behind a bottom plow, But it depends on the soil. As a kid I helped lay a lot of poly in a campground. It went in quick and dirty, and it lasted forty years until the sharp rocks with frost action started causing a lot of leaks.
