Need to update to a newer baler for my farm; currently runniny a New Holland 271...won't handle my straw windrows; Im looking at a John Deer 336 or JD 346....or New Holland 320....can anyone give me good advice please? I only bale about 500-600 bales a year..but want it to bale when its time to bale and handle the windrows. I think I will go with wire this time also. Thanks!

Not knocking NH but the 320 is a hispeed baler. 120 SPM vs 92 SPM on the rest. I would look 315 326 570 575 in NH. the JD 300 series are good too

The high speed models tend to be used hard for high volume operations, and pound themselves apart by the time they get some age on them and circulate through the used market.

have had the same problem in the past. have a jd 346, couldn't go slow enough to handle the windrows of good straw. fianally split the windrows in half with side rake, solved the problem. also learned to hire a combine with a smaller head helps too

Where do you live. Due to my advancing age & disability I'm slowing down on my hay baling operation. I'd sell my JD field ready JD 347 wire baler that has a hyd cylinder to change tongue position. It's baled less than 1000 bales per yr since I've owned it. I live 30 miles south of FT Worth.

Im using a 6600 with 20' header.... not cutting low either....still too much. A 346 wont handle the straw? Hmmmm.... Are all the newer balers 56" wide" Thanks

Jim...I appreciate your offer....Im sure your baler is much newer and nicer than what I can afford..... I have a small
operation. Thanks
